Broome International Airport is the largest regional airport in Australia and is located only a couple of kilometers from Broome CBD in Western Australia. The airport is often considered the gateway to Broome and the Kimberley region and is important for the Kimberley Industries including tourism, mining and the oil/gas industry. Several airlines including Virgin Blue and Qantaslink has flights to Broome and both Avis and Budget have offices at Broome airport and visitors can choose from a range of vehicles from small economy cars to 4WD campervans. In the northern territory air transportation is important due to the relative isolation and as a result Broome International Airport is likely to continue its steady growth and remain the southern gateway to the relaxation, sun and wilderness of the region.
