Wagga Wagga Airport Rental Car

Wagga Wagga Airport Wagga Wagga War Cemetery

The Wagga Wagga airport was established in 1937, but in 1938 it was donated to the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF). Wagga Wagga airport is still located on RAAF owned land next to the RAAF Base Wagga, but Wagga Wagga City Council signed a 30 year lease for the commercial area in 1992. The lease signing was also followed by a $2.2 million upgrade to the runway so that it could handle a Boeing 737. It is one of the busiest regional airports in New South Wales and in 2008 it serviced in excess of 200,000 passengers. Two airlines currently fly to Wagga Wagga, Qantas and Rex, but Virgin Blue are considering adding routes from Sydney to Wagga Wagga. The airport itself covers a 500+ acre area and have two runways (1 sealed  and 1 grass). Several car rental companies have offices at the Wagga Wagga airport including Avis, Budget, Thrifty, Hertz and Europcar.  Other airport services include a 125 space car park, ATM facilities, internet booth and a kiosk.
