Western Australia Rental Car
The state of Western Australia covers the majority of the western mainland of Australia and is the largest state in terms of area size; it borders both South Australia and the Northern Territory. Settlement in 1826 began with the establishment of a military outpost located in Albany, later however the colonial headquarters was moved to Perth, the now capital of Western Australia. Like South Australia, W.A was not established as a penal colony, and like Victoria, the state saw its first population surge as a result of a significant gold discovery in the 1890’s in the central and southern outback. Today mining still plays a vital role in the Western Australian economy. Thanks to the large deposit of gold, iron, alumina and nickel this means W.A has the largest per capita output of all the Australian states and amazingly close to 40% of Australia’s export revenues are derived from commodities mined within Western Australia.
